The Black Student Alliance student organization is organizing several discussions relating to student learning as part of this month's Black History Month celebration.
I hope you will make the time to be part of these important conversations, which will focus on creating inclusive classrooms and enhancing student success in our classrooms. These panel discussions will be of interest to all students, faculty and staff.
Feb. 12 — "How to be Successful," noon-1 p.m., Ho-Chunk Room, Davies Center. A panel of students and faculty members will discuss ways in which students can be more successful in the classroom, and will suggest helpful tools and resources.
Feb. 18 — "Multicultural Student Perceptions," noon-1 p.m., Menominee Room, Davies Center. Students will discuss how classroom environments at UW-Eau Claire have affected how they learn and how they are heard within class discussions.
Feb. 26 — "Creating an Inclusive Classroom," noon-1 p.m., Ho-Chunk Room, Davies Center. A group of students and faculty members will discuss how to better incorporate the voices of students who are rarely heard.
